SPQRacing - Season 0.5
Season 0.5 is a public test Season designed to validate the new championship systems before the official launch of Season 1.
It follows the full Season format, including global Season entries, single-event signups, rating-based splits, points allocation, penalties, and the protest workflow.
The purpose of Season 0.5 is to test the competition flow under real race conditions, fine-tune penalties and Safety Rating behavior, and gather feedback from participants.
Safety Rating earned or lost during this Season is temporary and will be fully reset at the end of Season 0.5, with no carryover to future Seasons.
This allows everyone to participate freely while helping improve the system without long-term impact.

Protests & Penalties
This championship uses a structured protest and safety rating system.
Protest Submission
Any driver may submit a protest including a video link and a written description.
Protests open 30 minutes after the event ends and close 12 hours after the event ends.
Protest Categories and Baseline Penalties
When submitting a protest, the driver must select a protest category.
Each category defines a baseline time penalty (in seconds) and a baseline Safety Rating (SR) penalty.
Protested Driver Response
After the protest window closes, protested drivers have 12 additional hours to respond.
For each protest, the protested driver may accept the protest and the penalty or send the protest to the stewards for review.
Outcomes
If a protest is accepted, the penalty is immediately applied to the event results.
If a protest is sent to the stewards, stewards review the incident.
If the protest is upheld, the baseline penalty is increased.
The final penalty is then applied to the results.
Automatic Acceptance
At 24 hours after the event ends, the event is considered closed.
Any unanswered protest is automatically accepted.
Corresponding penalties are applied automatically.
Safety Rating Modifiers
Drivers with very high Safety Rating receive a reduction in penalty seconds.
Drivers with very low Safety Rating receive an additional penalty malus.
SR adjustments apply after the baseline or steward-adjusted penalty is calculated.
What is a Season?
A Season is a championship made up of multiple events (rounds) that all contribute to a single overall standing.
Global Season Entry
When you sign up for a Season, you create a global championship entry.
This entry defines your car and race number (if applicable) and your eligibility to participate in all events of the Season.
Creating a Season entry does not automatically register you for races. You must confirm participation for each individual event.
Event Signups
For every round, you must explicitly sign up to the single race. Only confirmed entries are included in that event and can score points.
Splits
Splits are created per event, not per Season.
They are used to divide drivers into multiple servers based on capacity per category.
Each server can host 10 GT drivers and 10 Hypercar drivers.
If entries exceed these limits, multiple splits are created.
Splits are generated using SimGrid rating, aiming to group drivers of similar pace into the same grid.
Points and Multipliers
Points are assigned using the Season’s points scheme.
Each split applies a multiplier based on the average SimGrid rating of the grid.
Stronger grids receive a higher multiplier.
Final points = base points Ă— grid multiplier
Drop Rounds
The 2 worst results (including missed rounds) are automatically excluded from the final standings.
