Sebring Pre-Qualifying – Day 2: Balance at its peak, showdown tomorrow
Published on
The second day of pre-qualifying at the Sebring circuit did not shake up the top positions, but it made the fight for the cut even tighter. With only two two-hour sessions remaining on the schedule, the challenge is entering its decisive phase.
Hypercar – Di Buono improves again
In Hypercar, Marco di Buono continues to dominate the scene: he lowers the benchmark once more, stopping the clock at 1:43.707 and confirming himself as the outright leader. Behind him, Simone Violo (+0.591) and Daniel Tudda (+0.731) remain close, while Alessandro Corso and Michele D’Arezzo complete the top five.
The fiercest battle is for the provisional 14th place, currently held by Antonio Piscitello with a 1:45.128. Just 104 thousandths behind is Matteo Cinotti, followed by a tightly packed group of drivers separated by only a few tenths.
LMGT3 – Podium unchanged, fierce fight for the cut
In LMGT3 the top three remain unchanged: Edoardo Ruggiero leads with a 2:00.943, followed by Marcello Bonaccorsi (+0.169) and Guglielmo Filippi (+0.239). No one has managed to dislodge them, confirming a provisional podium of the highest caliber.
Behind them, however, the battle is fierce: the last qualifying spot is currently in the hands of Marco Vella with a 2:02.203, just 28 thousandths ahead of Francesco Mastrangelo. A matter of a few hundredths is enough to completely reshuffle the list of qualified drivers.
Decisive final day
With only two sessions left to be run, every lap can make the difference. Tomorrow’s final day will definitively determine the 14 qualified drivers in each category, paving the way for the final phase of the Italian GT3 and Hypercar Championship on LMU.
