ACI CI HYGT – Di Buono and Bonaccorsi finish in style, Ruggiero crowned LMGT3 champion

The Temple of Speed hosted the final act of the Italian LMU GT3 and Hypercar Championship, a finale worthy of a spectacular season.

On the legendary Monza circuit, amid wet asphalt and dramatic twists, Marco Di Buono claimed the final Hypercar victory of the year, while Marcello Bonaccorsi prevailed in GT3 after a race affected by rain and the disqualification of Guglielmo Filippi.
The titles, already decided after Bahrain, went to Edoardo Ruggiero (GT3) and Dario Iemmulo (Hypercar).

Hypercar — Di Buono wins, Tudda narrowly misses out

The Monza race delivered a finale worthy of the top category.
Starting from pole position, Daniel Tudda led for a long time with pace and composure, defending himself from the attacks of Di Buono and Violo.
The race seemed firmly in his hands, but an error on the exit of Parabolica just minutes from the end forced him wide, opening the door for Marco Di Buono, who seized the opportunity and claimed his second win of the season with great authority.

Violo finished second, less than two seconds behind, followed by Passoni to complete the podium.
Tudda, despite finishing fifth, delivered one of his best performances of the year, confirming his potential and steady growth throughout the season.

The fastest lap went to Di Buono himself, with a 1:35.485, crowning a high-level race and a finale managed with great experience.

LMGT3 — Rain, chaos and drama: Bonaccorsi wins, Ruggiero is champion

If the Hypercar race was straightforward, the GT3 race was a true thriller.
Rain arrived about twenty minutes from the end, completely reshuffling the deck.
Up to that point, Edoardo Ruggiero was firmly in the lead, closely followed by Filippi and Bonaccorsi. But just on the exit of Ascari, an error by Ruggiero caused him to lose control of the car, surrendering the race lead.

Guglielmo Filippi took advantage, taking the lead and crossing the line first, but after the race the Race Direction disqualified him for a technical irregularity, handing the victory to Marcello Bonaccorsi, who had been following just tenths behind.
Behind him were Mattia Panci and Leonardo Porco, with Ruggiero finishing tenth after a comeback slowed by the mixed conditions.

Despite the bitter ending, Edoardo Ruggiero can celebrate the 2025 Italian LMU GT3 Championship, thanks to an extraordinary season concluded with three victories (Lusail, Le Mans and COTA) and remarkable consistency that allowed him to prevail over top-level competition.
The championship podium is completed by Bonaccorsi in second and Filippi in third, sealing a category that remained fiercely contested until the final corner.

The fastest race lap went to Ruggiero, who set a 1:49.794, the best time in wet conditions.

A finale worthy of applause

With the Monza round, the curtain falls on a championship that successfully combined spectacle, technical excellence and sportsmanship.
The 2025 season crowns Dario Iemmulo (Hypercar) and Edoardo Ruggiero (GT3), but also a group of drivers who raised the level of competitiveness and fair play at every round.

See you in 2026, with new challenges, new circuits, and the promise of another season dedicated to the most authentic virtual motorsport.
